The artist Isabelle Vannobel in Lorient

At the closing event of the INdIGO project, held in Lorient on 22 March, we have welcomed the artist Isabelle Vannobel, renowned for her work in recycling marine waste.

Her creative process begins on the beach, mainly in Dunkirk where she lives. It is there that she collects the debris from fishing gear, which she then incorporates into her works.

Isabelle Vannobel's art is fuelled by her desire to go further in the use of recycled materials. She began by incorporating marine waste into her weavings, and has progressed to creating larger, more ambitious pieces.

She recently caused a sensation at the 'La Bonne Aventure' music festival in Dunkirk, presenting beach huts whose walls were woven from waste fishing gear.

Her future projects aim to create larger, more interactive structures, adding a practical dimension to her artwork while remaining true to her recycling approach.
