The aim of the INdIGO project is to develop a fishing gear with a controlled lifespan, biodegradable in the marine environment and to improve the recycling of fishing gear at the end of its life. INdIGO is also working to improve the prevention and management of pollution generated by used fishing gear by identifying existing collection and recycling channels and developing an application to locate fishing gear already lost. This Franco-British project, funded by the European Union, will end on 22 March 2023.
For this occasion, the University of South Brittany (UBS) and Ifremer are organising a Franco-English closing event. The results of the project will be presented and stakeholders involved in reducing the impact of plastic from fishing and aquaculture will speak. The event is open to all, and if you are interested in this theme, you can register by clicking here, where you will also find the programme for the day.
