Seayouandi is a new swimwear brand created by Cassandre Pucci, designed in South of France. Why are we talking about swimwear ? To equip yourself and observe the lost fishing gear underwater?
No, the particularity of this brand lies in the material used. In fact, this swimwear are designed with recycled fishing nets and more specificaly from ghost fishing gear collected by some divers associations in Mediterranean. For Cassandre, the aim of this project is to design a product from existing waste materials. Used fishing nets are recycled and recovered by an Italian company. "A new thread is woven from this waste. I use this thread to design my swimwear," explains the brand's designer.
Cassandre grew up in Lorient. A lifeguard for the SNSM and a surfer, she is very sensitive to the protection of the marine environment. With her brand Seayouandi, Cassandre wants to convey a broader message and inform the general public about the richness of the oceans. "I regularly take part in waste collections on the beaches. I enjoy meeting people and talking to them directly about the importance of protecting marine ecosystems.
